Listening to and watching the video's regarding the City of Bartlett Budget "hearings"....is so disheartening!
The 2009 year is almost identical to the 2000 year. What is truly identical is the LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, LACK OF CONCERN, LACT OF INTENT TO DO THE RIGHT THING for the citizens of Bartlett.
The most obvious difference is the number of audience members willing to speak up. In 2000 several citizens asked questions, tough questions. No clear answers were given. Confusion reigned.
In 2009 you can only hear voices of three (3) citizens in the audience asking tough questions. again no clear answers were given. Councillady Rodriquez dared to question the Mayor and his infamous temper flared. You did good, Alice! Keep up the good questions.
Is the City better off today than yesterday? Is our money being managed more properly?
The Mayor stated that he forgot to bring a copy of the budget to City Hall. Where was the budget? Is the Mayor ILLEGALLY taking City Records off-site (like maybe HOME)? Why can't the Mayor answer the citizens questions about how he is spending our money? The Mayor is the Chief Financial Officer of the City of Bartlett.

The 'new' City Attorney, Ms. Seinz, doesn't like to be questioned by the citizens either. She talks in circles to avoid being held responsible for advice given. Why? If she knows what is legitimate why not just speak the TRUTH?
